3. Hillrock Bourbon Solera Aged Sauternes Cask Finished

Hillrock is proud to be one of the few “field-to-glass” whiskey producers in the world and the first USA distillery since before Prohibition to floor malt and hand craft whiskey on site from estate grown grain. Hillrock’s commitment to quality embodies the rich history of artisanal distilling in the Hudson Valley. This incredibly distinctive solera-aged bourbon is aged in rare Premier Cru Sauternes wine casks. Hillrock Solera Aged Bourbon was the world's first solera aged bourbon. Solera aging is a process that has generally been reserved for aging cognacs, ports and sherries. The result is a signature balance of sweetness and acidity, with nutty flavors and notes of apricots, honey and peaches.

This heavy hitting flavor explosion (bottled at 128.8 proof) was prominently featured in the VIP TASTING last year! Garrison brothers has been making waves in the realm of American craft whiskey. Their "Cowboy Bourbon" won #1 micro whiskey of the year in the 2014 Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible. Use of Wheat as the secondary grain (as opposed to rye) makes Garrison brothers part of a small group of "wheated" bourbons which include brands such as Larceny, W.L. Weller, and the Illustrious Van Winkle line of bourbons.
